I'm extremely thrilled. Do you wanna know why? It is because I am very proud to review the first Pink Eiga title here at SheSoCrazy and we start off with one of their more recent releases Blind Love. This erotic comedy follows Daisuke who hasn't quite mastered his profession of being a great ventriloquist. On top of that, his wife is divorcing him, making him pay for casual sex, his ventriloquist act is obsolete, he's shorter than most women and his post-marriage love life is as limp as his....dummy. Enter Hikari, an attractive young woman who is most likely Daisuke's only fan which would seem perfect for the slump that Daisuke is in except that Hikari is blind. Yoichi, Daisuke's taller apprentice, steps in, pursues Hikari and pretends to be Daisuke while Daisuke tags along to be the voice of himself as Yoichi becomes the body. Jealousy reveals it's ugly head as Yoichi, pretending to be Daisuke's body while Daisuke himself is in the room, scores with Hikari. Now their friendship hangs in the balance along with the lie that holds over the triangle of lovers.

What I admire most about Blind Love is that the ventriloquist Daisuke becomes the dummy. He hangs like a monkey on Yoichi's back and speaks while Yoichi does all the physical movements and touches. Like a dummy, Daisuke receives no sexual action or gratification and pouts for a majority of the film. He is a shy and blundering fool as he wastes chances away. Yoichi, on the other hand, makes decisions and takes what he wants. He gets the most ass in the film, banging not one, not two but three women - one of them was even a heifer and had bushes for armpit hair - yuuck! I can't blame Yoichi though for he is a slender and attractive young man while Daisake is a short and older "starving artist," as he calls himself.

Hikari becomes the duped blind girl and she notes to both men before hand that she does not want to be taken advantaged of nor be treated any differently than any other woman. Intimate chivalric manners is where Yoichi and Daisuke differ. Daisuke reflects, more through his obsolete profession, the older generation by attempting to perform the righteous qualities. On the other side of the spectrum, Yoichi doesn't care for emotions and takes what he wants without hesitation or fear of consequence. Though Hirake portrays as an innocent, she is a "freak" in disguise, but only a "freak" for Daisuke and his wooden puppet.

The oddity perversion of Blind Love is quite outstanding and plentiful. There sustains multiple scenes of sexual irony. Daisuke and ex-wife hook up just for the fuck of it and then the ex-wife surprisingly requests money as payment, the train fetish scenario with Luna, Hikari's best friend, who runs a fantasy whore business where men can get off by pretending to be fingering a school girl on a train car and then you have Yoichi and the heifer, who owns a theater where Daisuke performs, whom want to marry but for reasons unknown. The satirically funny scenes are sexually explicit and graphic, yet naturalistic and comical with their whimsical nature.

The Pink Eiga release is quite jammed pack of extras. A couple of featurettes with director Daisuke Goto and cinematographer Masahide Lioka, Q&A at the New York Asian Film Festival of 2009, Sill Image Slideshow, original poster, international trailer, sneak peak at upcoming Pink Eiga releases and a cast and crew biographies and filmographies make the extensive list. Blind Love holds a fresh feel for the sympathy of lighthearted comedic drama while exposing the fetishes and perversions of the underground world of Japanese erotica. Blind Love is not to be passed up and should be worth the cost for any erotica fan while still providing worthy entertainment to the casual curious watcher. Pick it up, today!
